Today was the 50th anniversary since the shrine Meiji Jingu was rebuilt after it was destroyed during the Second World War. For the celebration they did not close the shrine at 5 pm as usual, today Meiji Jingu it was opened until 8:30h and there was special illumination everywhere. It was really beautiful!

Web-care is a Japanese Internet service that allows you to have a virtual boyfriend. There are tons of similar games in the Japanese market (Marketed for boys and for girls), but Web-care is the newest stuff out there with “Web 2.0″ style and it is being pretty successful. There are already more than 20.000 girls registered using the service. You can select among four boyfriends with different personalities.

The Vengeance Trilogy

“The Vengeance Trilogy” are three korean films made by the Park Chan-wook. The three films plot is not connect but all of them are about vengeance, about brutal and savage vengeance. They also share the same obscure, kafkian and violent atmosphere. The three movies are: Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Oldboy and Lady Vengeance. All of them are pretty good, but my favorite one is Oldboy. I think it is a good introduction to Korean cinema for those of you who don’t know anything about it.

Taco rice

“Taco rice” is one of my favorite Japanese food. It is a typical recipe from Okinawa. The main ingredients are white rice, lettuce, tomato and meet with taco sauce. Depending on the restaurant, it can also have cheese, egg, avocado, extra sauces and cucumber. My favorite version is the one with cheese and avocado.

“Taco rice” was “invented” in Okinawa in an area of restaurants that were near a United States military base. Those restaurants served tacos and other mexican and Texas style cuisine. But some Japanese chef had the idea of replacing the tacos tortilla with rice and “taco rice” was born. Nowadays you can find “taco rice” almost everywhere in Japan, there are tons of variations, some of them very “japanized” with sauce made with mirin, soy sauce and sake.

I’m sure that you can cook your own “taco rice” just by looking at this pictures:
