Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme is a donuts shop chain very well know in the United States. They opened one shop here in Japan last December and it became the most popular donuts shop in Tokyo. There is always a really long line, and I mean always! After some months since the opening even during weekdays there is always a long line. Since the business seems to be working, they just opened a new shop in Yurakucho. Now, instead of one long donuts queue, there are two long donuts queues in Tokyo.

I have no idea why suddenly everyone is obsessed with donuts. Over here in Singapore, we also have a donut shop which has people queuing for 4 hours, which I think is insane.

Krispy Kreme makes some of the best donuts. It’s hard to believe that they’re a big chain of stores. Anyway I like pic number 2. It’s nice to see that people still wear Kimono’s in the modern world.

I don’t understand the cult status of Krispy Kremes.. it was popular when there was only one exclusive store in the whole of the country– but I think one donut has enough sugar to last you a month.

Hey, I was there a few weeks ago taking some pictures and I was shocked. I literally stood there for a good 15 minutes saying to myself that the donuts must be really out of this world to be standing there for so long. Then I thought about the time I stood outside for 3 hours to buy a pair of sneakers in NYC. Ha-Ha

Why is Krispy Kreme so popular? Because it’s so insanely tasty. Though I stay FAR FAR away because it’s very, very unhealthy too.
