Made in occupied Japan

Occupied
I found this tag in a shop.

Since 1945 until 1952 all products that where exported from Japan to the United States of America had to have a tag with the sentence “Made in occupied Japan” written. Noways when you find something with this tag it’s like a “warranty” that the stuff you are buying was produced during the Japanese post-war years; I guess is useful for collectors to know this.

hi, i love your site. i’m always reading it during work when i should be working but i’m reading your site instead.

I hve been collecting “made in Occupied Japan ceramic pieces, and wood and silver as well for many many years.
Thie ingenuity involved in their creatiion intrigues me. Some are copies of the European designs of those years, others are truly unique.
My collection should be shown in Japan. I have never been there, and yet adore reading about it, and the people.
