No graffitis

graffiti
Where can I draw? 😉

There are not many graffitis in Japanese cities, this is the only sign prohibiting it I’ve seen until now and curiously it was at the entrance of a US military base in Okinawa.

Hahaha, the US military base in Okinawa!
When I was in Okinawa I got the impression that okinawan people don’t like the US military presence there. I was at an izakaya with a 70 year old karate master, who was really angry, and said that Americans should go home*!

So I wouldn’t be surprised if some serious japanese guys took matters in their hands and showed the Americans where they should go:) Although it’s really not typical to Japanese people:)

(*This same sensei said that Shimauta is modern pop-junk.)

When I was at the Nijo Castle in Kyoto 2 weeks ago I saw a No Graffiti sign in both English and Japanese. I don’t know what the Japanese said but the English said No scribbling here.
