X-Seed 4000

X-Seed 4000 is the name of the tallest planned building ever (even though it was never built). The X-Seed 4000 sketches and concept were designed by Peter Neville for Taisei Corporation and it was supposed to be built at the Tokyo bay. According to plan, the X-Seed 4000 would be 4 km tall, would be taller than Mount Fuji and it would host almost a million people. The Tokyo Pyramid was another mega-project planned for Tokyo that was never carried out.

Another similar project is Sky City 1000, that when built would be 1 km tall:

The recent anime Shangri-la seems to have borrowed the X-seed 4000 design for its mega-city, Atlas.
