The biggest indoor swimming pool in the world

“Ocean Dome”, located in Miyazaki, it’s the biggest indoor swimming pool in the world. It’s 300 meters long and 100 meters wide, and it’s located 500 meter from the sea. The temperature inside the pavilion it’s always around 30 degrees and the roof is sky-blue and it has even “clouds”. It has an artificial volcano and also an artificial waves generation system. “Unfortunately” it seems that this world guinness record swimming pool closed this year, I guess they where not making enough money.

Searching on The Net I found this interesting picture. It’s supposed to be the first swimming pool in Japan, almost 100 years ago. Even before the war it seems they already had space problems 😉

I wouldn’t be surprised if they weren’t making enough money… It looks like the beach… it feels like the beach… but it costs more than going to the beach.

I remember watching some segment on television about this.

There was even a story about an Australian that move to Japan solely to use this place. Kinda sucks that he has no reason to be there anymore, haha.

Japan has not a kind wheater. And the water in the local beach can be full of sharp rocks. So locals(and not only) rather choose Indoor comfort. This pool would be useless in warm countries, but for sure can be the best thing in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Canada … Those guys never took a bath in the sea.

I only know one Japan of the best and i love you Japan.
Me and my sister love much Japan and Arashi band.I want to live in Japan.
Japan i love you

This pool is amazing and cool.
Nice Tokyo and every in Japan!!!

the real beach is behind this massage symbol of over indulgence and consumption! Always trying to control nature until nature roars back.
